| Reverend Edward C. Doherty |
The Roncalli Institute is dedicated to the care of the frail and elderly. Founded by Reverend Edward C. Doherty, the mission of the Institute was inspired by the compassionate legacy of Pope John XXIII, Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli.
Starting with a simple idea to better care for those in need, the Institute has grown and developed to further reach its intended community with grace and humility through its 30-year history.
The Institute is headquartered in Portland, Connecticut, at Saint Clements' Castle, and is the parent organization to affiliates including: the Saint Clement’s Foundation and its children’s trust and sponsorships; five nursing facilities; and three elderly and handicapped residential complexes.
The Institute continues to expand its compassionate outreach through innovative programs and facilities, always keeping in mind the value of every human life.
